Pupil Attendance
We strongly encourage good attendance and ask parents to phone us immediately if a child cannot attend school. This needs to be done before the start of the school day. A voicemail can be left if there is no one in the office to take the call. Please do not send messages by email or dojo as they might not be looked at until later on in the school day.
If your child needs to attend the doctor, dentist, hospital or clinic please let the school know in advance. We will not allow any child to leave school on his/her own and they must be collected from the school office. New legislation from September 2013 states that head teachers cannot authorise holidays during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances. Please see the Local Authority leaflet for more guidance.
If a child is late (arriving between 8:55 - 9:15am), they will be given an L code for that session. If a child arrive after 9:15, they will be given a U code for that session which counts against their attendance percentage.
Support will be provided for children who are persistent absentees, where attendance has dropped below 90%.
